Summer Fruit is hand stitched from plastic and mesh bags collected over time. I often think about the plastic bags I encounter stuck in a tree as I walk down the street, having floated there after escaping the trash bin or the landfill. Eventually, those floating bags will end up in the waterways. I much prefer this use of the bags, exploiting their paradoxical beauty to make an artwork that is purposefully tethered between the trees.
